Our Firm

Arkins & Company Chartered Accountants was co-founded by Joe Arkins in 1993 with the intention of providing a personalised, professional and efficient accountancy service to businesses in Ireland.

As a result of the growth experienced by Arkins & Company Chartered Accountants the practice purchased new offices in Galway Technology Park in 2003.

The practice has continued to progress and now offers a wide range of services delivered by qualified staff in a timely manner.

We are an established, dynamic, independent firm geared to providing an expert, professional and personal service.

The practice is approved as a training practice for students of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI).

We are registered to carry out work in the UK by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Arkins & Company Chartered Accountants is ideally placed to provide informed local, national and international advice.

Our Team

At Arkins & Company Chartered Accountants believe that retaining staff ensures consistency and quality of service. We attempt to promote career development in order to motivate our staff and ensure that our clients avail of the best possible service from staff that understand their needs and have the expertise to deliver on promises. Our team consists of a qualified partner and six staff two of whom are qualified accountants and one of whom is also a Chartered Tax Consultant.

Joe Arkins trained with Craig Gardiner Price Waterhouse, Limerick (now PWC) and Kitt Noone & Co., Galway (now DHKN) qualifying in 1992. He has circa 30 years auditing, accounting and taxation experience in the SME sector.

He is also a member of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners and a liquidator of over 30 years’ experience. Joe has completed the Certificate in Personal Insolvency ( with distinction ) awarded by the ACCA. He has frequently been a guest speaker on corporate insolvency topics for the Western Bar Association and has lectured in Accountancy at Third Level and on “Start Your Own Business” courses.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. He has completed a Certificate in Audit Orientation. He has also assisted in the voluntary sector, as a former director of St. Columbas Credit Union.
